		<description>Chaz,
There was a time when our trail shoe selection was either a pair of low cut Keds or hiking boots. Our electrolyte replacement was tap water with salt and sugar... and , of course, beer.
Our &#039;cool max&#039; was the t-shirt we wrapped around our waist or draped around our neck. What we couldn&#039;t buy we made. The lining of my first &#039;running&#039; shorts was a pair of my former wifes nylon undies (sans bow) I was a lot thinner in those days... And, as I mentioned before - our hydration packs consisted of syrup bottles hanging on a belt.
This is what it was like when &quot; The Old Goats&quot; started running OC trails!
Can you imagine running Modjeska Grade without worrying about kamakazi downhill Mountain bikers. Can you imagine the San Juan Trail without ruts. Can you imagine what it was like to run alone in Woods Canyon on narrow cowpaths. Can you imagine doing it in $15.00 shoes?
